Necessity & Benefits of Tapioca Cultivation Nowadays

Necesity & Benefits of Tapioca Cultivation

Today I want to tell you about a different topic.

The natural calamities are affecting the nature a lot.

The land area for the cultivation is becoming lesser every year after another.

The increased population and developing cities also a causative factor.

The major source for food are the rice and wheat,it requires a large area for the cultivation.

Here it raises the importance of the Tapioca cultivation.

The benefits are, its very easy to plant and harvest.

Very less labour work needed.

You can do it yourself without any help from others.

Throughout the year you can repeat it regardless of  the weather changes.

Small area of land is required to cultivate.

No much care is needed.

No need of pesticides as it is not much affected by pests and other insects.

Less fertilisers are enough, no chemical fertilisers are required.

Ten months time is enough for the harvest.

Cost effective, very less or even no expenses for the cultivation.

You can depend on it as the main course food.

And also it can be used as snacks.

You can prepare curries and side dishes as well.

Since good old period, the mankind depended on this as main course across the globe.

Make sure you use it well cooked, there is a controversy that traces of natural cyanide particles present in it,which will be absolutely no more after cooked well. Which means no harm to the body (Nothing to worry as many people around the planet is living with this as the main meal).

Methods to cultivate:

It is safe as no fertilisers and Pesticides are used.

Cowdung, Coir pith, Vermi compost or any natural fertilisers will boostup the yield.

At first you loosen the soil very well before planting.

Prepare a bed of loose soil, height about a feet, add about 2kg of cowdung, and 50 gms of agricultural lime (calcium carbonate) to the soil desirable.

The distance between two plants should be one meter.

The 10 inches length stem of the plant can be used for the planting.

You can plant in two styles, vertical or horizontal methods. If you plant vertically, then two out of the three parts of the stem should be under the soil.

If you plant horizontally, then the entire stem should be laid only two inches under the soil.

Horizontal method gives more yield.

The health benefits are as follows:

1. High in carbohydrates

2. Rich in Calcium,Iron,vitamin K.

3.Good for development of bones.

4. Good to prevent anemia as it contains iron.

5. Rich in fibers hence preventing bloating problems compared to other root tubers.

6. It contains more potassium, it helps to control the blood pressure.

7. Releases plenty of Calories and energy to the body.

8. Good effective in reducing the chances for  Alzheimer's disease as it is rich in
vitamin K.

9. It is Gluten free.

10. Can be used for main course meal, snacks, side dishes, curries and many other varities of food which is enough for you to stay healthy.

Above all, it's my favourite. Kappa (tapioca) with fish curry.

Mixed Fruits Dinner

Mixed Fruits Dinner

Ingredients are as follows,

1.Banana

2.Mango

3.Papaya

4.Pineapple

5.Pomegranate

6.Apples

7.Guava

8.Watermelon

9.Orange

10.grapes

Dry Fruits and Nuts;

1.Cashew

2.Almond

3.Dates

4.Raisins

5.Figs

The list continues, it doesn’t mean that these are

the only fruits good for dinner, nothing like that.

It’s the list of the fruits and nuts available in

Kerala during this season.

We should take the fruits which are available

locally and should take according to the season.

That means the nature will produce the fruits

which are to be taken in that season at that region.

Fruits are the rich source of the minerals fibers

and nutrients with low calorie value. Minerals like

sodium Potassium etc. are available in plenty in

the fruits.

Fruits contain a lot of complex carbohydrates too.

It works as the energy booster.

And rich in Vitamin c which has got the accelerating effect on wound healing.

Fruits can be taken at anytime of the day.

I would say, Fruits are the immunity boosters of

the Nature.

Fruits are the best and safe snacks to take in between the meals.

It includes simple sugars too.

So patients with high blood sugar levels should

take medical advice before taking it as a regular

practice.

Diabetic patients may take fruits, but not in the

 well ripened form.

If you avoid your dinner with heavy source of the

Carbohydrates & fats and Substitute with fruits, it

will help to reduce your body weight.

Obesity is the major task faced by most of the

 population nowadays.

Fruits have the major role in Obesity

 management.

Fruit diet will not make any harm to your system

and it works wonder without leaving any

wrinkles, dry skin and emaciation on the body

especially on the facial muscles.

There is a contradiction that Ayurveda says we

 should prefer only cooked food.

Here is an Idea why can't we skip a meal; and the
 benefits are as follows.

The entire world is going to go into an economical slow down after this present scenario.

And there is a chance for the scarcity of the food stuff as an indirect cause.

We can resolve this matter upto a certain level by skipping a daily meal.

Everybody is facing the obesity due to the overeating.

We can fix a new schedule atleast during this lockdown period.

Breakfast at 11am.
We can have the normal course like Rice porridge, Oats, Cornflakes, Muesli, Idli, Dosa or Puttu as usual.

Between 1pm - 2pm
Lime water, Thin butter milk, Tender coconut water, Fresh juices, warm water boiled with dry ginger, corriander seeds, cumin seeds or Tulsi leaves. And fruits also can substitute our regular lunch.
We should have something during the usual lunch time.

Dinner at 7pm

An early dinner, Chappathi with vegetable curry or egg roast, soup based dinner or any choice from the above breakfast list.

Make sure you drink plenty of water during the day especially at the hot weather regions.

Try it out and see the results.

Your Suggestions appreciated.
