Seasonal ailments - How to Prevent?

Hello Readers and My Dear Patients,

The weather changing into the extreme cold these days,we all prone to affect the seasonal imbalances. In order to protect ourselves the following health tips will definitely help you.

Try to keep away from the cold conditions,water for drinking and bathing should be luke warm.

Should not walk out side early in the morning and late evening with out covering the head and neck area and can close the ears too so use the cap and glove.

Can add one teaspoon ghee along with the break fast.

Drinking water boil with dried ginger.

Oil application on Head and Body before bath.

Better to walk for 15 min exposed to sun.

Meat and Fish preferably grilled.

During this season the digestive power will be more so we can have heavy food stuff like meat fish etc.

Kidney Stone - Simple Tips

Hello Readers and My Dear Patients,

Today we discuss about a commonly seen problem Urinary Calculus or Kidney stone.

 In Ayurveda texts it is explained as the ‘Moothrasmari’ in Sanskrit term.

 It is differentiating according to the site where it is located,the size,shape and the sediment stuff.

Usually seen in people where they were in a more dehydrating area.
 People who works out side especially in hot weather and high temperature areas.

 People who all working long hours and not particular about to drink sufficient quantity of water then there is chance to get this issue very easily.

Once you found the calculus,then it is better to avoid taking tomatoes,cabbage,brinjal and items which is having more calcium content.

They should take plenty of water in a day,on an average drink 3-4 Ltr water daily till the calculus diminishes.
The general symptoms are as follows; mild fever,burning sensation while passing urine,low urine out put and pain in lower abdomen,blood tint in the urine,lower back ache some time pain on the hip area.

You can confirm with a Sonography test on stomach.

Simple Tips to control the symptoms;

Drink one tender coconut water daily, take more horse gram,tender inner stem of palatine is also good- you can take as curry or squeeze and drink the juice early morning in empty stomach.
 Add more drumstick plant leaf in curry.

One whole cardamom with seeds and husk just crush it a put it in a tender coconut for 5 hours then chew the cardamom and drink the tender coconut water.

Take 20 gms of tender leaves paste of the plant ‘vitex nigundo’ (karinochi) early morning in empty stomach.

Prepare a concoction with Drumstick plant root and to be taken twice daily before food.

In advanced conditions with severe symptoms surgical removal is necessary.

Today we will discuss about the Benefits of Ginger Coffee.

Benefits of Ginger coffee.

The Ingredients are;

Dry ginger,
Cumin seeds,
Pepper,
Tulsi Leaves,
Garlic,
Jagary.

5gms each add ¼ teaspoon of coffee powder boil with 300 ml water for 10 min, filter drink warm frequently gulp by gulp it will ease running nose,cough,chillness and fever.
 Promotes appetite too.

Diabetic Patients can avoid jagary.

Diabetes - Tips to Control

Hello Readers and My Dear Patients,

Today we will discuss about some simple single drug remedies and Tips for Diabetic patients.

1.Dried powder of Turmeric and Gooseberry  mix it in 1:9 proportion,keep it in a dried glass vessel. 10 gms of this powder mix with 60 ml hot water to be taken half an hour before breakfast and dinner.

2.Bitter god juice 100 ml to be taken 2hours after breakfast or half an hour before lunch.

3.15ml juice of Tinspora Cordifolia juice (chitamruth) mix with half teaspoon turmeric powder to be taken early morning in empty stomach.

4.Bark of Zyzigium Jumbolanum (Jumbool fruit tree) 30 gms boil in 2Ltr water, boil and reduce to 1.5 Ltr, filter it and use for Drinking during the day.

5. Diabetic patients should not take Curd.

6.Half an hour brisk walking desirable.

7.Yoga and meditation to calm the mind gives remarkable improvements.



8.Practice the ‘Vajrasanam’ daily.

Back Pain - Simple Tips

Hello Readers and my Dear Patients,

Today i just want to mention about a wonderful single drug remedy for the Lower Back Pain.

As i said in my previous blogs the constipation and piles will enhance the blockage for the energy flow around the waist muscles,sacral and Lumbar bones at the Back.

 So the pain will be aggravating in such conditions.

The following Remedy will help to pacify the condition up to a certain extend. 

You can also try it out and feel the change,share your experience in your circle.

Castor oil + vitex nigundo leaf juice (nirgundi swarasam)
Castor Oil 5 - 10 ml ( it is a mild herbal laxative) add 30 ml tender leaf juice of ‘Nirgundy’ plant(Sanskrit). English Name is ‘Vitex nigundo’ and Malayalam name is ‘Karinochi’.

 Stir well to mix both castor oil and tender leaf juice,it should be taken early morning in empty stomach continuously for 21 days.

As it is a laxative you get 2- 3 times bowel movements in the morning.

 You can adjust the dosage of castor oil.

 You may feel slight stomach ache while taking this mixture,then you drink hot water gulp by gulp in frequent intervals.

You can also apply the castor oil warm with camphor and asfoetida on the lumbar area at the lower back.

These applications will be enough to pacify the severity of pain.

How to eat our food? The rules and Regulations - Ayurveda view.

Hello Readers and my Dear Patients,

How should  we Eat our food?

This question has got the relevance at this period of time. In Ayurveda texts explain what should we eat,when we should eat,type of food and many more.

According to ayurveda we should eat the food in a calm and clean place,should take food in time.


 Ayurveda science suggesting two meals in a day once early in the morning and the next one should be in the evening.


And also giving the following directions to have the food.

Should not talk while eating.

Should not take faster.

Should not be very slow.

Should not sleep just after having food.

Should not walk,run ,climb steps or travel  just after food.

And also tells that,we should smell the food,we have to touch and see the food. 

By the smell itself our digestive glands secrets the saliva,by touching and seeing we can identify the food the quality,quantity, whether it is suitable for our body or not etc.

We should not eat frequently.

Should not walk while eating
Should not watch TV when eating.

We should pray before eating,should thank God for getting the food for our survival.

The quantity should be one third of our stomach volume in order to have one portion for the food,one portion for the water and one portion should be left for air.

We should chew the food very well in the mouth till it gets liquid form and the saliva will be mixed well .

 It will enhance the complete digestion and absorption of the food.


 Then we will be enjoy the food ,we should feel the taste hence we will have the satisfaction too.

When we chew the food and gives enough time in the mouth it will be better for the proper ‘dhathu parinama’.

7.Sleep only 6 hours in 24 hrs time

8.Take timely food

9.Take 500 ml water just before having food.

10.Wake up early in the morning.

Medicinal Plants - Cheroola


Botanical Name: Erva Laneta jus

Family Name: Amaranthecea 

Sanskrit Name: Bhadra

Malayalam Name: Cheroola

Parts Used: whole plant with root can be used.

Benefits and Uses:


It is a diuretic plant,very good effective in case of urinary calculus.

It can control the bleeding during the pregnancy.
And also can be used with other appropriate hers for different types of fever.

Urinary stone:

The complete plant with root wash,cut and pounded 100 Gms boil with 1 Ltr water reduce to 250ml filter and boil again to reduce to 100ml . 

To be taken early morning in empty stomach and two hours before dinner (50 ml each). Can be continued for 41 days.
 It is very good to reduce the size(even cure) of the kidney stone.

During pregnancy:


On the seventh month onward can be taken till the delivery. This can enhance the normal delivery and for a healthy Mother and Baby.


Method of preparation;

 100gms crushed root boil with 200ml cow milk and 600 ml water,boil and reduce to 200ml and sugar can be taken at bed time.
