How the Natural forces influencing Human body

Hello My Dear Readers and Patients,

Today we go back to the principle of the life forces.

The Natural forces are the Space,Air,Fire,Water and Earth and these five elements ruled by the Sun and Moon.

We surviving because of their proper balanced state or by maintaining the absolute equilibrium.

When it breaks the equilibrium it reflects in the entire universe leads to the natural calamities like earth quake, flood, depression, tsunami, drought,Heavy rain fall etc.

The modern science is growing faster enough to trace and track them up to a certain extend.

That is why now we can predict the tornado, solar eclipse,Rain etc.

And also we are able to measure it with maximum accuracy.

Even though when we reach so close to the universal forces then we realize that what we found is just a fraction only and we have to travel infinite to the absolute truth.

Our scientists works throughout day and night to define the natural forces, till now we don’t have a final answer.

The human body also influencing by these life forces. What ever actions happening in our body is due to the proper balancing of these energies.

When it breaks the equilibrium it appears as the various illnesses.

In our body each one of them has got its own duties.

The space element allows to hear,Air element gives the feeling of touch and controls the nervous system, the fire digesting the food and controls the circulatory system, water maintains the fluid balance and gives the unctuousness to the body, and the earth element gives the shape and keep up the musculature of the body.

And these are functioning depending on the cold from the Moon or heat from the Sun.

In short, the air,the fire, the water (vatha, pitha and kapha in Sanskrit) plays the major role.

The Air or ‘Vatha’ controls the entire nervous system.

Walking, thinking, excretion, speech, memory and many more activities are happening by the proper functioning of the air or vatha dosha.

When a patient complaints, aches, pains, stiffness, constipation or blockage of urine etc. here we can understand the aggravation of the wind element.

When the vatha dosha aggravates it is affecting any one or more above said functions.

It denotes the severity of illness when it affecting more number of systems.

When the fire or pitha dosha affecting it shows different signs and symptoms on the skin like eczema etc.

When the water or ‘kapaha dosha’ aggravates it presents symptoms like phlegm accumulation, bronchial asthma, obesity etc.

Just like the clouds show the chance for rain,we can read the various illnesses from the presenting pre-monitory signs and symptoms from the body.

The Ancient texts Charaka Samhitha,Sushrutha Samhitha and Ashtanaga hrudayam explained about these about 5000 years back itself.

Brief about Ayurveda Treatment - "Pichu"

Hello Readers and My Dear Patients,

What is the Treatment method called “PICHU”
It is the one of the common treatment method in Ayurveda.

It is advised in case of the aches and pains aggravates in the joints by the elevated wind element in the body which creates the dryness and pain as a result of the ‘vatah vrudhi’.

Even though we are taking the internal medication as well as external panchakarama treatments the pain may aggravate due to various reasons.

Here we have to do the treatment “Pichu”.

How to do the Pichu?

We need a cotton piece which will be sufficient size to cover the affected area.

Warm the prescribed oils pour and keep the oil in a plate, dip the cotton piece and put it over the affected area for one hour.

In between warm the oil again and pour it on the cotton piece.

This can be repeated for twice or thrice.

Try to do it continuously minimum for 7 days as a course of the treatment, and if you can do it on same time daily, it will be better.

Precaution:
The oil should be warm moderately,if it is too hot will burn the skin. So we have to check the temperature of oil before application.

The medicated oils should prescribe depending on the severity of the pain, site affected, whether swelling is associated or not, body condition etc.

How it works:
Generally most of the painful condition occurring due to the aggravated wind element by different reasons.

There will be lac of synovial fluids inside the joint and degenerative changes also.

In a Dried up state when we keep the warm oil for an hour time it sucks and absorb into the affected area easily.

It will help to pacify the pain slowly, and one more thing is that the internal medication which the patient taking will enhance the absorption of the oil properly.

Hope this info is enough to clarify. Thank you for Reading and Sharing.

Importance of laxatives in Ayurveda treatment

Hello Readers and My Dear Patients,

Importance of laxatives in Ayurveda treatment;

In most of the Ayurveda prescriptions will have the Laxative medication either in medicated oil, ghee or Powder form.

Ayurveda believes  the principle “prevention is better than cure” and in general all the illnesses is treating with the cleansing therapy.

In Ayurveda cleansing and rejuvenating the system in order to attain the balanced state of the three life forces and maintains the healthy state of mind and body.

The treatment basically classified into two, Pacifying and Cleansing.

After the Cleansing therapy Pacifying medication will be continuing till attain the perfect health.

And also in cases where the illness is not that severe and do not affected the system deeply, here directly going for the Pacifying  medications.

The Cleansing therapy is involving five steps, five fold cleansing therapy called ‘Panchakarma’ therapy.

They are Vomiting (Vamanam),Purgation (Virechanam), Medicated enema (vasthi), Medication through Nostrils (Nasyam) and the blood letting (Rakthamoksham).

The Physician will fix the suitable methods upon the need of the condition of patient.

The Purgation (Virechanam) can be two forms either as the part of cleansing therapy or mild cleansing (mrudhu virechanam).

How the purgative medicine works?

In a diseased stage, the body contaminated in blocked channels all along the body (Srothas).
That is happening in two ways:

1.       When the wind element (Vatha Dosha)aggravates, drying up the lubricating agents in each and every tissues.

2.       When the Earth and Water elements (Kapha Dosha) aggravates there also the blockages occurring due to the fat accumulation excessively.

In both of the above cases,we have to take effort to clear the blockages by various methods.

Purgation with laxative medicines is one among them.

When we take the mild laxatives regularly it digesting and clearing the blocks and taking the impurities to the stomach then draining out.

It promotes the better circulation of body fluids and proper functioning of the nervous system.

And also  the absorption of food and eliminating the waste through sweat ,urine and stools will happen properly.

Then we apply the medication to rejuvenate the system simultaneously, hence we get rid of the illnesses.

Hope you got a brief idea, your comments always will be appreciated .

How to apply the oil on head and Why?

Hello Readers and my Dear Patients,

Many of my patients were keep on asking this question, how to apply the oil on head and why?
So today i am going to brief about it.

 My highly respectful ‘Guru’ Padmabooshan Sri.E.T.Narayanan Mooss used to prescribe the head oil application as follows;

Daily in the evening after 5pm,one teaspoon of prescribed head oil to be poured into an already heated ladle stir to cool and to be applied on the middle of the head, wait for half an hour then wiped of with a dry cloth.

Head bath can be done in the morning twice in a week with Luke warm water.

This is the method he usually prescribe,he is suggesting that because after the head oil application, the head should not get sweat.

So he advise to do it in the evening.

Should not take bath but wipe of with dry cloth which leave a light smear of oil kept over night,it enhances the absorption of the oil for better results.

But very rarely the patients get inflammation on cheeks when doing like this.

He allows the patient to wash the head daily in case of psoriasis patches on the head or severe dandruff with itching and scaling.

According to the job and other situations many of the working class patients cannot follow this method strictly.

So i suggest my patients to apply and wash it with Luke warm water either in the morning or in the evening.

Head should not wash twice daily.

Should not take head bath when  hot sun .

Patients with Rheumatic conditions and inflammatory stage inside the body, better to reduce head bath to twice or thrice in a week.

Especially patients with Spondilitis, sinus problems, migraine, eye diseases, allergic asthma etc.
In the Ayurveda text ‘Ashtangahrudayam’ says that oil application should be practiced daily especially on the head region, ears and on the feet for a healthy person.

Because the 107 vital points originates from the head to the soles ,when we apply the oil at the origin and at the end part, it reflects on the entire body. And the head is considered as the ‘uthmangam’ (important center of nervous system),the proper functioning of hearing is happening by the activity of wind element which is seated at the ears and the feet is also the seat of wind element (vatha sthanam).

The basic property of oils are pacify the wind element or ‘vatha dosha’.

So in order to protect and maintain the balanced wind element in the body oil application is very necessary on the Daily basis.

There is range of oils which prescribed by Ayurveda doctors depending upon the patient’s body type, age, gender ,symptoms and illnesses.

Thank you so much for Reading and Sharing my blogs, looking forward for your sincere comments.

Gynecological Disorders - Simple Tips

Hello Readers and My Dear Patients,

Today we will have a look into the Ayurvedic Simple Health Tips for the Gynecological Disorders.

According to Ayurveda in the human body the food is digesting, absorbing the good part and eliminating the waste products from the body through Feces,Urine and Sweat.

And in the females every month regularly cleansing the reproductive organ too that is in the form of menstrual bleeding.

A number of hormonal activity involving in this process.

So if any disturbance noticed in the menstrual cycles it denotes that something is happening abnormally in the body.

Normally the cycle starts every 28th day and completes in 4-5 days time.

If it happens early or delays more than one or two days, clots presents, blackish discoloration, sever pain, head ache ,mood swinging, sever cramps, nausea, vomiting, giddiness etc are shows the abnormalities in the reproductive system.

Lately if it persists it affecting the hormone and other systems too.

As the body itself has got the corrective mechanism it will be alright soon by its own.

If the symptoms persists for long term.

You must need a expert consultation.

In ayurveda it is explained very well about all these conditions about 5000 years ago.

In the ancient texts ‘charaka samhitha’ and ‘sushrutha samhitha’ gave much importance to the ‘sthree roga vinjanam and prasoothi thanthram’ (Obstetrics and Gynecology).

It narrates the premonitory signs, symptoms, stages, diet, how to manage, medications and treatments etc.

Certain conditions normally seen in the clinic are painful menstruation, delayed periods, early cycles, irregular cycles, profuse bleeding, poor flow, fibroid uterus,leucorrhoea,PCOD- poly cystic ovarian diseases, abnormal  hair growth in females, pimples, infertility etc.

Ayurveda can treat all these conditions with proper diet plan, lifestyle adjustments, yoga, meditation, simple home made formulations, internal herbal concoctions as well as external oil therapies depending upon the various conditions.

Here is some very simple home made solutions:
In case of delay in periods; 30 gms of sesame seeds fry in a pan add 300 ml water boil and reduce to 150 ml then chew and swallow the sesame seeds flowed by drink that water, can be done twice daily an hour before break fast and dinner.

Continue this for 90 days. And also you can add more horse gram in your diet, take plenty of pineapple and papaya.

Drink 2 ltr water daily boiled with coriander seeds. . If it is not getting relief consult your physician.

In case of early periods; 2 teaspoon  of Arrowroot powder boil with a glass of cow milk when it turns mild gel like add bit sugar and drink Luke warm twice daily. It can be useful in case of leucorrhoea too.

Drink plenty of milk, add lot of asparagus, bamboo shoots and pomegranate in your daily diet.
For further advise consult your Ayurveda Physician.

Why should say 'No' to heavy food stuff ?

Hello Readers and My Dear Patients,

Today again we discuss about the diet; you might noticed in my previous blogs whenever i suggest the diet for a patient or a particular condition i used to suggest to avoid the heavy food stuff.
Here we look into the details.

First of all let me explain what is happening in our body when our metabolism is irregular.

When we feel the symptoms like, heaviness of the body, aches and pains, mild swelling on the joints, puffiness of face, chillness, tastelessness or bitterness in mouth, head ache, feverish, loss of appetite, cough, phlegm accumulation in the chest or head region, morning or evening rise of temperature in any or more conditions explained above will have the low digestive power as an associated symptom.

According to Ayurvedic view; in the above said conditions the ‘kapha dosha’ or ‘vatha dosha’ will be deranged and the ‘ pitha dosha’  will be less.

That means the fire element in the body became feeble and wind and water elements aggravated.

When the fire element or ‘pitha dosha’ will be less in such stage the digestion will be low due to the lack of fire energy.

Ayurveda texts the fire enegry is called as ‘jataragni’.

Here digesting the food, elimination of waste through sweat, urine and stools, absorption of fine product these process will be sluggish.

On top of it if we take heavy food stuff like;meat, fish, diary products, oily deep fried items, junk food, cold items, sweets etc will make the condition worse.

Not only that there is chance for developing an internal inflammatory condition all over the body which will aggravate the symptoms of the respective diseases.

And another fact is that with a low digestive power the light potent herbal concoctions won’t absorb properly.

So we should avoid taking heavy food stuff and we should prefer everything light, easily digestible and should be well cooked.

I would like to add one more word – there is a myth that is we should not take the non-vegetarian food along with the herbal concoctions,i hope the above clarification is enough to clear the confusion.

Thank you for Reading and sharing my blogs and please be the part of spreading Ayurveda.

Importance to Avoid Wind aggravating food stuff in Daily Diet.

Hello my Readers and Patients,

When  ever i recommending the diet for different conditions there is some common factors in many of those menu.

Usually i suggest to avoid things which is windy stuff, for example all the root tubers except carrots, lentils especially yellow Dal, green peas, ground nut etc.

When we take these items generally we getting symptoms like bloating, burping, belching, chest burn, flatulence, constipation, piles problems etc.

As these food items are of wind dominant items and they gives the above said signs and symptoms.

And when we take the wind aggravating food stuff it causes the aggravation of the wind element in the body.

When the wind element aggravates in the body it causing the Aches and Pains,Insomnia,Constipation,Disturbs the digestive power irregularly.

It may lead to most of the diseased conditions too.
According to Ayurveda science the wind element has got the major role in human body and life.

The functions of the balanced wind element are as follows; enthusiasm, breathing, movements of the limbs, controls the excretory system, controls the metabolism, controls the proper functioning of the five sense organs etc.

And the aggravated wind element in the human body creates the following conditions; emaciation of the body, blackish discoloration, desire towards the hot, shivering, distension of the stomach, constipation, weakness of the body and mind, insomnia, low perception of five sense organs, blabbering, giddiness, looks poor etc.

Not only that Ayurveda texts says that generally 80 types manifestations of diseases in the human body is due to aggravated wind element.

From the above said factors you can understand the importance of balanced wind element and how much serious will be the aggravated wind condition.

When the wind imbalances it hits in any manner on the body.

So we must seriously take into consideration of keeping the balanced wind.

The best way is to avoid the wind aggravating factors from our daily life.

So go back to the top of this blog read again and print on the mind the diet which aggravates wind element or the “vatha dosha” in Sanskrit term.
