I just reached back from "Nelliampathy". It was really nice trip. Best spot for one night and two days trip. In this April month,it is not hot but not cold also. It is very close to "Trichur" Town,may about 75 Kms. You have to drive through "Vadakkanchery" towards "Palakkad" root. Then take diversion to "Nenmara" from there another one hour drive to "Nelliampathy". The places to visit there,"Seetharkundu" and "Keasavan Para" near to AVT tea factory. On the way just after "Nenmara" you can see "Pothundi Dam" on the left hand side. While getting into the hill station you can get rid from the hot weather slowly. You will reach the junction named "Kaikatty" first from there you go straight to "PulayamPara cenetr",there you can see a vegetable and fruits garden owned by Kerala Agricultural University,you can spend about half an hour then you can go to Seetharkund in the Jeep. They may charge about 800 Rupees. It is the best point to see in Nelliampathy,you can enjoy the scenic beauty of the nature. Then you come back to "Pulayampara" and Kainatty junction turn left to AVT tea factory ,you can enter the factory with permission from the authorities you can see the processing of tea leaves. And can buy the fresh tea powder and leaves with reduced price about 20 to 25 percent less cost from the MRP on the cover. Next point you can go to KesavanPara very close to AVT tea factory may take 10 min walk. You can walk down to the hills and big rocks. It is a marvelous scene from there,you can see the Pothundy Dam and the road to Nelliampathy from Nenmara. After that you can take rest at near by resorts. Comparatively cheap in this season. You can get Double room which can occupy a family at Rs 900 onwards. But if can spent Rs1500 will get a resort at Hill garden resorts,they offering food also along with as a package. Nice food and stay. 
The Places to Remember; Vadakanchery,Nenmara,Pothundi Dam,Kaikatty junction,Pualayampara,Seetharkundu,AVT tea Factory,Keasavanpara,Nooradi,Hillgarden Resorts,Fruits and Vegetable farm at Pulayampara. Enjoy your Holiday and Have a nice Trip.
