In Kerala state the physicians commonly using the Sida
Retusa and in North Indian states Sida Cordifolia in general due to the
availability and climatic conditions.
It is available in plenty throughout Kerala state.
It comes under the shrubs category as it grows 30 cm to 80 cm
height. The leaves resembles butterfly.
It contains lot of Alkaloids.
According to Ayurveda the qualities are;
Madhura,Snigdha,Ushna and Madhura Vipakam too.
It has got the properties to subside ‘Vatha Rogas’
(Rheumatic Complaints)
Increases the Heart Rate’
Relieves Breathing difficulties,
Promotes good sleep,
Good for Pain and fever relieving
It can be used the all plant or the roots alone.
Uses:
The all plant 60 gm wash it very well crush it add One
Litter water boil and reduce to 250 ml filter and further reduce to 125 ml .
Take 60 ml each twice daily before food.
It is indicated in Piles,Intermittent fever,and Rheumatic
Complaints.
The above said concoction again boil with equal quantity of
milk and to be taken before and before dinner from 5th month onward
during pregnancy till the delivery date. It can help to avoid the
complications and makes the delivery
Normal.
Sida Retusa and Ginger in equal quantity prepare in above
method and take thrice daily is good for fever.
